    The Holocaust

    The Holocaust was a mass murder of the Jews, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, and much more. In the beginning of the Holocaust the Nazis would put everybody into ghettos. But later on everyone was moved into concentration camps where the older and healthier people would work and the sick and younger people were burned to death in the crematorium or put into gas chambers.
  • Adolf Hitler Becomes Fuhrer of Germany

    On the 2nd of August Adolf Hitler became the leader of Germany. The time he was in office, he started the Invasion of Poland and the Holocaust. However before he was the Fuhrer of Germany he was the leader of the Nazi Party. The Nazi Party was a political German party that fought against Communism and tried to make people become Nationalist.

    Invasion of Poland

    The beginning of World War 2. The German air force dropped bombs when flying over Poland. While German tanks raced across the country side. Hitler wanted to invade Poland because he thought it would bring more living space for the German people. After the invasion Britain and France declared war on Germany.

    Winter War

    The Winter War was a conflict between the Soviet Union and Finland. The cause of the Winter War was because the Soviet Union faked the Finnish attack in a Russian town. The town wanted the Finnish forces to apologize but the forces denied that they did it. A few days later the Soviet troops crossed over the Finnish borders and attacked. However the Soviet troops (450,000) outnumbered the Finnish troops (180,000).

    Battle of Britain

    The battle between the British Royal Air force and the German Luftwaffe. This battle was the first major battle that was fought all in air. The battle started because Hitler wanted to invade then rule Britain. However, the German Air Force were at a disadvantage. Each of the air forces had their own advantages and disadvantages. The Royal Air Force had radars that could track were the Germans were coming in from and the German Air Force had much more people.
  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    On December 7th 1941 7:48a.m Japanese fighter planes, bombers, and torpedo planes attacked the U.S naval base in Hawaii. The attack was suppose to be an attack that prevented the U.S pacific fleet from interfering with the Japanese military's action against the U.K and Netherlands. During the attack all eight U.S Navy battleships were damaged and out of the eight of them four of them sunk. Also, many U.S aircraft were destroyed. There were 2,403 Americans killed and 1,178 wounded.

    Battle of Stalingrad

    The Battle of Stalingrad was a battle against the Soviet Union and the Nazis. The battle is considered a turning point in the Second World War. This battle started because Hitler wanted the oil fields in Caucasus. During the battle Russian soldiers were told not to turn back or else they were traitors. This battle was the battle with the most casualties. About 2 million people died during the battle.
  • Invasion of Normandy (D-Day)

    This was the largest air, land, and sea battle in the war. This battle took years of planning and training. The soldiers of the Allied forces had to carry eighty pounds of equipment for 200 yard. There was also a deception plan for this battle. The Allied forces used fake radio traffic to make the germans think that the attack was going to take place at Calais. So the night before battle, the Allied forces dropped dummies over the area.
  • Hitler Commits Suicide

    On April 30 1945 Adolf Hitler Committed suicide in his bunker before the fall of Berlin. A few days before his death, he married his wife Eva Braun. Hitler and his wife both committed suicide. Hitler consumed a cyanide capsule, then shot himself with a pistol. He was not officially declared dead until 1956. He committed suicide because he was informed that the Russian front was coming.
  • Victory In Europe Day (VE-Day)

    VE-Day or Victory Day in Europe is celebrated in America and Great Britain. People celebrate this day because it was the day German troops all over Europe surrendered. British Prime Minister Winston Churchill found out about it in the morning of May 7th but no official announcement was made until later that evening. So the next day thousands of people celebrated the German surrender.
