    The event that started WWII, the german invasion of Poland. On September 1, 1939 Germany invaded Poland. In response to the invasion Great Britian and France declared war on Nazi Germany. Poland ended up surrendering to Nazi Germany after fighting for almost a month on fighting. Nazi Germanys military was superior in everyway.

    Germany Invades France
    In May of 1940 germany attacks the Maginot Line, the border between France and Germany, with thousands of tanks, troops, artilery, and diverbombers. This was just a diversion and Germany was actually attacking France through Luxembourg where they easily got behind the maginot line. On June 14, 1940 Germany got into Paris, France and a week later France surrendered.

    After the Invasion of France, Germany started trying to invade Britian. They started to fly their planes to attack but they couldn't get past the Royal Air Force. After that Germany just bombed Britian until they stopped to they could prepare for the invasion of the Soviet Union.

    Pearl Harbor was a bombing and air-to-surface attack by the Japanese military. The attack came out of no where, the US military was not involved in WWII when this happened. This was a really important attack becuase its what brought the United States into the war which really turned the tables about who was going to win.

    The attack on Pearl Harbor was the attack that brought the United States into the war. The Japanese military bombed the US miltary base in hawaii to try to convince them to be neutral. In the following days the US Navy tracked down and dystroyed all of the ships that were involved in the attack on pearl harbor.

    The Battle of Midway was the United States first battle during WWII. This battle was the US navy v.s. the Japanese navy. The US navy ended up deystroying the Japanese navy on that day. The US joining the war was a big help to the allies becasue they hadn't been in the war before this so they were fresh on supplies, troops, and other resources.

    The Battle of Stalingrad is what stopped the German troops from entering the Soviet Union. Hitler really wanted to take over Stalingrad because he said that taking over the city that belonged to the leader would be great to use as propaganda.

    US and British troops invaded Italy, they kept pushing forward and pushing German troops back. By the end of the month allied troops were in Naples. Before this attack the Italian Dictator Benito Mussolini as overthrown and the new Italian government surrended to the US and British troops.

    The Battle of D-Day in Normandy, France was one of the, if not the most important battle during the whole war. At the end of june 850,000+ Canadian, British, and American troops landed on the beaches of Normandy.

    The Battle of D-Day was the most important battle during the war. Over a month the allies put 850,000+ troops onto the beaches of Normandy, France. On June 25, 1944 the allied troops escaped Normandy and headed into France.

    The Germany Military launched this attack becasue they wanted to stall the allied troops. It ended up failing and the german military had 10,000+ casulties and they lost a lot of military equipment. This event was signifigent because the Germans lost a lot of equipment and troops.

    The Battle of the Bulge was when German troops attacked Allied troops in hope to keep the stalled. The plan eneded up falling and the German military lost 10,000+ soldier and a ton of military equiment.
  • Germany Surrenders

    Germany Surrenders
    On May 7, 1945 Germany surrenders to the allied forces. Soviet and American forces surround Berlin. As the Soviet forces near Adolf Hitlers bunker he commited suicide. Over the next couple days Berlin falls and the rest of the German forces unconditionally surrender in the west and the east. Celebrations broke out in Wasington, Moscow, London, Paris
  • Atomic Bomb

    On August 6, 1945 the US Army dropped a bomb on Hiroshima killing tens of thousands from the intial blast and thousands later from radiation exposure. Three days later they dropped the other bomb on Nagasaki. Once again tens of thousands of people died. On Augest 8th the Soviet Union declares war on Japan. After they declared war they invaded Japanese-Occupied Manchuria. On August 14, 1945 Japan surrendered to all the allied forces officially ending World War II
