Four million German troops poured over the Russian border to try and take the city of Stalingrad. But because of the cold winter and the fact that the Germans where not prepared for the harsh cold. Germany was unable to take the city. -

The Empire of Japan attacked the port city of Pearl Harbor and decimated much of the US Navy. This is the day that the United States enter the war. -

The Atomic bomb was dropped on the Japanesse city of Hiroshima. Killing thousdands of people. -

A second atomic bomb was dropped on another city in Japan, Nagasaki. This killed over 400,000 people. -
The Surrender of Japan
Japan Surrenders and bringing the war to an end for the US. The Japanese Instrument of Surrender was signed on board the USS Missouri.
