  • Japanese invasion of China

    Japanese invasion of China
    What- the invasion started when China declared a full scale resistance to the expansion of Japan.
    Why- this invasion happened because Japan was seeking raw materials to help its growing industries.
    Impact- this battle was from 1937-1945 and had a total of around 300000 Chinese civilians killed and tortured. This invasion showed the world that Japan is now a threat.
  • German Blitzkrieg

    What happened- it was a German military tactic that struck fear and damage to people. This attack consisted of thousands of people, armored tanks, and planes destroying anything in their way.
    Why it happened- the purpose of this attack strategy was to avoid a long war, like what happened during WWI.

    Impact of the event- this attack changed how war was fought. During WWI fights were fought in trenches and slow movement, but the blitzkrieg made war very mobile.
  • Fall of Paris

    Fall of Paris
    What- this attack was from the German assault team. This German army took many countries including Luxembourg, Netherlands and France. Once Franch was taken over there last fight was in Paris where Germany took that tok leading to the Fall of Paris.
    Why- this attack on Paris happened because of Hilters long awaited revenge when France won WWI.
    Impact- Fall of Paris showed the world how strong Germany was during WWII and thought there was nobody to stop them.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    What happened- it was a surprise attack by the Japanese on the US Naval base on the Island of Hawaii.

    Why did it happen- they wanted to send a message to the US basically saying they want to trade goods with them again.
    Impact it had- It brought the US into the War
  • Wannsee Conference

    Wannsee Conference
    What- It was a meeting between all important people of the Nazi party about what they should do about the jewish population.
    Why- this happened due to the fact Hitler Hated jewish people and the Nazi party itself as anti Jews
    Impact- the impact was how they mistreated the jewish people. It also impacted the overall population in Germany, when they made them disappear.
  • Bataan Death March

    Bataan Death March
    What- The invasion of the Philippines began. During this invasion the people of the Philippines tired to protect the island of Bataan but they were forced to surrender. After they surrendered the Philippine people had to March 65 miles from where they surrendered to these death Camps.
    Why- the invasion of the Philippines happened only because Japan wanted their resources.
    Impact- this showed the US that Japan did not care what they did to get power and that they needed to be stopped.
  • Warsaw Ghetto uprising

    Warsaw Ghetto uprising
    What- is was the first and largest resistance against the Nazis by the Jews. The Warsaw Ghetto was a camp where Nazis soldiers were dropping off 50,000 more Jews but were met with grenades and weapons by the Jews.
    Why- this happened due the fact that the Jewish people at this camp had enough and fought against the Nazis.
    Impact- this act from this camp sparked many more Jewish people in this camp to make a resistance. After the Warsaw Ghetto many more acts like this happened throughout WWII.

    Allied invasion of Italy
    What- the allies made a plan to try and force Italy to surrender to weaken the German army in southern europe. The British army stormed into Italy and started a battle and soon after that Italy had no choice but to surrender.
    Why- the purpose of this invasion was to weaken the army of both Italy and Germany in thee southern part of Europe.
    Impact- with the fall Italy the Allies we able to control the south and later ended up to Germany defeat in WWII.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    What- it was a military attack where the allis teamed up to fight the Nazis. D-Day was the largest water attack in war history.
    Why- it was America's way of entering the war.
    Impact- this impacted how the rest of the war ended up. This victory for the allies pushed Germany back and led to the surrender a year later.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Battle of the Bulge
    What- is was Germany and Hitlers last offensive push on the western front, trying to divide the allies and take control back in the war. But this attack didn't work.
    Why- this happen to try to slit the allies and for Hitler to take back control
    Impact- This marked the last offensive attack from the Germans.

    Liberation of concentration camps
    What- when the allies were moving across europe they can across these concentration camps realizing what these people went through they let them go.
    Why- liberation of these camps happened when allies found them. The allies set the prisons free because they notice the mass amount of them and how they were treated
    Impact- when the world found out about these camps, they were in shock. The impact of these camps show that Hilter was a messed up and cruel man.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Battle of Iwo Jima
    What- this battle was given the bloodiest battle in Marine history. The plan was to capture the island of Iwo Jima from the Japanese in WWII. The US naval captured the island.
    Why- this battle happened due to the fact that the US wanted to use the Island for an air base to attack the Japanese.
    Impact- The island homed 21000 Japanese soldiers and only around 300 survived. Taking this island was a leading factor to the Japanese losing the war.
  • Dropping of the atomic Bomb

    Dropping of the atomic Bomb
    What- it was an attack strategy from the states to end the war against Japan. The plan ended up killing thousands of people.
    Why- the atomic bomb was dropped to force Japan to surrender. The states took action in their own hands and tried other ways to make them surrender.
    Impact- the impact of this bomb changed the war itself forcing japan to surrender and with the knowledge of the bomb war never happened again due to the fact of what the bomb could do.
  • VE Day

    VE Day
    What- VE day marked the end of WWII in europe. VE was only celebrated in Europe because the war was still going on in the pacific.
    Why- this happened to celebrate that the war was finally over.
    Impact- it marked the end of the war being over and they honored the millions of people that died during the war.
  • VJ day

    VJ day
    What- VJ day marked the victory over Japan and marked that all of the war was officially over.
    Why- the war that was marked over because of the victory over Japan.
    Impact- the news that Japan surrendered brought relief to citizens across the world and relief to the allies in the war.
