Remilitarization of the Rhineland
Hitlers sending of troops into the Rhineland, against the Treaty of Versailles. This was allowed as per the British Prime Minister Chamberlain's policy of Appeasement. He allowed Hitler to re-take the Rhineland as long as Hitler promised not to use force to expand Germany's borders any further. -

This began as a right wing uprising against the Spanish government and was only partially successful. After the partially-successful coup, Francisco Franco began a war with the established government, he was supported by Nazi Germany and Italy. Nazi Germany simply joined as a means of practicing their war techniques and bombing strategies. -

Appeasement was the policy of making concessions to an agressor for legitimate grievances in the hopes that war will be avoided as a result. This is what Chamberlain of England used with Nazi Germany with no success. -
