    This battle was against the Germans and the Soviet Union. Hitler tried to take the Soviet's oil fields in the Cascasus Mountains and he also wanted to wipe out Stalingrad, an industrial center on the Volga River.

    Dwight D. Eisenyower gave the "go" on this day to invade Normandy, France. The fight against of the Nazi Army was on the coastline or Normandy.

    A plan was created by Hitler, in order to split American and British forces and the Allied supply line.Germany was able to break throught the Allied territory thus creating a bulge in the lines. After the battle, Germany had lost 120,000 troops, 600 tanks and assault guns, and 1,600 planes; the Germans had no choice, but to retreat.
