The Russians had signed a treat with Germany in 1939 so, they were taken by surprise when Hitler sent his soldiers and many tanks to Russia. Stalin then signed a mutual assistance treaty with Britain. The U.S offered a similar aid as the "Lend-Lease" to USSR. -

The U.S won the Japanese navy. This was six months after the Pearl Harbor Attack. This allowed the U.S to move into an offensive position. -

the German-Italian army was attacked by Montgomery. This hapened in North Africa. Montgomery attacked with a massive bombardment and amoured attack. -
D-Day
Allies attacked Germany's forces. This took place in Normandy, Western France. Rome was liberated the day before D-day.
