    The signifcance of the Battle of Guadalcanal was that they were making headway against the Japanese. The Japanese had lost their island the Allied Forces now had an island for an airfield. The Japanese lost a lot in that battle too that crippled their abililty to wage war . It was also a very deadly and bloody battle.

    It was Nazi Germany's 1st Major defeat in World War II. The battle of Stalingrad was one of the biggest battles fought during the World War II between the Fascists and Allies. The battle turned the tide of the War as the Fascists began to suffer reverses in other areas also after the Battle of Stalingrad.

    The Allies invaded Italy so they could continue to advance against the Nazi alliance and end the war sooner. Russia was fighting to hold back the German invasion of their country. The Allies promised to help Russia and the only way that they could was to continue to fight Germany where they could and prevent Germany from sending more troops into Russia.
    Italy was the only place that the Allies could attack and support the operation.

    This was the turning point for the war. It marked the start of the Allies' Invasion of Western Europe and cleared the way for Allied victory. This was the day where the allied forces invaded the beaches of Normandy France and began to liberate it of the French. This also marked the end of Hitler's reign over Germany.

    This was significant because it liberated the people in the nazi deathcamps and that it is the last German offensive in World War II. This also left a "bulge" in the nation.

    Okinawa was the last island for the allies to invade before moving notrh into Japan. It was used as a standing position for the allies to go in and invade Japan.

    This event shaped the future. This started the Cold War and the Nuclear Arms Race that lasted until 1991. This attack essentially ended World War II, the largest military conflict ever, and shaped international politics and U.S. policy ever since.
