If Czechoslovakia didn't annex district of the Sudetenland, Germany would declare war. Chamberlain wanted to avoid war so he allowed the annexation. -

Britian and France delare war on Germany two days later. The next day, British Royal Air Force attacked the German navy. -
Japan attacks United States at Pearl Harbor
President Franklin Roosevelt called December 7, 1941, "a date which will live in infamy." Japenese fighter pilots attack the naval base.
