Germany Invades Czechoslovakia

Mar 16, 1939

In March 1938 Germany took back the territory that it lost in WWI to Czechoslavakia. Shortly after, on March 16th the following year, Germany took over the now powerless country.

The Soviet-Nazi Pact

There were two pacts, an economic agreement, and the Soviet-Nazi Non-Agression Pact. The first pact stated that Russia would supply raw products to Germany, and that Germany supply furnished products to Russia. The Soviet-Nazi non-agression pact publically stated that the countries would not attack eacother, what it really meant was that Russia would not help poland if Germany invaded them.

The Phoney War

The Phoney war was a phase early in WWII which had little miltary operations by the Western Allies agains the Germans. After delcaring war on Germany France and Britain sat around(thus the name der Sitzkrieg, the sitting war).

Canada Enters WWII

Canada declarded war on Germany a week after Britain and France had. By the end of the war it would posses the fourth-largest air force and third-largest naval surface fleet in the world.

The Invasion of Poland

The Invasion of Poland was the invaison of Poland by Germany and it's allies. Poland staged a long defense of the Romanian Bridghead; it's allies, France and the UK did not help Poland very much. After taking over Poland a lot of changes were made to the country, Germany enforced it's laws, Russia started a campaign to sovietize their new land.

Germany Invades The Rest

Starting on April 9th, 1940, Hitler invaded the rest of western Europe. These invations were to send a message to the Soviets.

The Invasion of France

May 10, 1940

After taking over Poland the Germans sucessfully invaded France, also known as the fall of France. Germans armored forces pushed through the Ardennes to cut off Allied forces. Britain was quick to retreat, leaving France to fend for itself, and lose.
