  • Battle of Britain

    An air battle fought between Britain, and Germany. This was one of the first of its kind, because it was one of the first battles to only be fought in the air. Hitler had planned to use the Battle of Britain as a chance to invade Britain. All though, with Germany's huge army, due to poor planning, stratagy, and tactics, Germany was suffering many losses. Due to these losses, Hitler pulled back and postponed the invasion of Britain.
  • The Battle of Stalingrad

    Adolf Hitler believed beating the Soviet Union men't destroying there economy. In May, 1942, her sent his army to capture oil fields, factories, and farmlands in South Russia. The Germans soon captured Stalingrad, which played a major role in Russia's economy. Soon later the battle had continued, but the Germans were not prepared to fight in the cold. On November 23, the soviets surrounded Stalingrad, trapping the Germans and caused the troops to surrender
  • The Battle for North Africa

    A battle of smaller battles, with the British and the US being the 2 main allied forces. These battles were fought to secure the Suez canal, which was a big route for trade that Germany had taken over after invading North Africa.
  • The Casablanca Conference

    After the invasion of North Africa, President Roosevelt, and Churchill from Britain agreed to hold a conference. During this conference Roosevelt and Churchill agreed to set up the bombing of Germany. The goal of this campaign was "the progressive destruction of the German military, industrial, and economic system, and the undermining of the moral of the German people". Also both agreed on attacking the axis on the Island of Sicily, AKA ("The soft underbelly").
  • Striking the Soft Underbelly of Italy

    American, and British forces landed on the beach of Sicily, and were met with instant raining of bullets. Within 8 days, American tanks had ran through the enemy lines, and took over the western half of the island. By August 17th, German troops had evacuated the island
  • The Battle of Kasserine Pass

    A battle mainly fought in North Africa, with the American and British forces trying to push back the Germans from taking over the rest of North Africa. The American and British finally pushed back the German troops, and on May 13, 1943, the last of the German troops there surrendered.
  • Battle of Berlin

    The Soviet Forces final offensive against the German capital. British, American, and Soviet forces tried to encircle the capital and squeeze the Germans. This did not go as planned, it took them 4 days to take over, with many casualties.
