    Annexation of Sudetenland
    When Germany invaded Czechoslovakia, there was an area of dispute between Germany and Czechoslovakia known as the Sudetenland. After the Munich Conference, it was decided that the Sudetenland would be under Germany's rule. German Nazi's caused issues, including violent outbreaks, with Czechoslovakia over this region.

    Pearl Harbor
    Japanese airforces attacked the US naval base on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Japan broke the peace with the US and this event caused the US to get involved in the war.

    The Philippines
    After the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese army invaded the Philippines which was a US territory. Japan was trying to get bases secure for Japan and they did so successfully until the US came to fight and won on May 5, 1942.

    A military campaign between Russia and Germany with the other Axis Powers. The Germans underestimated Russias winter and the Russian forces causing Germany to fall back in February 1943.

  • Japanese Internment Camps

    Japanese Internment Camps
    Roosevelt established Japanese Internment Camps after the attack on Pearl Harbor out of the fear of Japanese spies. It ended on March 20, 1946 and was later apologized by a president. It was considered one of the most horrific things in US History. The Japanese-Americans were compensated years after the insident by the government.

    Battle of Midway
    The US Navy and the Imperial Japanese were fighting in the Pacific after Pearl Harbor. Japan's hope was to weaken the US Navy but their hopes were crushed in the Battle of Midway. It ended on June 7, 1945, and the US won.

    Guadalcanal
    The Guadalcanal was the first major victory for the Allies in the Pacific theatre. The US took over an air base while the Japanese were at Soloman Islands. The Japanese finally withdrew from the battle on February 9, 1943 after suffering major losses.

    Island-hopping
    Island-hopping was a military strategy used by the US to get closer to Japan. The US went to different Islands in the Pacific and supplied the Island with defenses. Each Island had a base and it helped the US gain control in the Pacific theatre against Japan.

    Operation Overlords' purpose was to liberate the Allied forces in Western Europe. One of the largest invasions for Germany and forced the Germans back in August of 1944.

    Meeting at Yalta
    The Allies of WWII met at Yalta and discussed what will happen after the war and the League of Nations. The three leaders also talked about the Soviets' entry into the fight with Japan. This impacted what happened when Germany lost the war.

    Death of Hitler
    When the Fall of Berlin was coming to an end, Hitler was in his bunker and killed himself. He wrote a will blaming the jews for the entire war and he even gave his wife poison.

    The last meeting of the Allied leaders, Truman, Churchill, and Stalin, for WWII. They came up with a Counsil of Foreign Ministers and they all had different opinions on how to handle Germany, economically and punishments.

    Hiroshima
    The US bombed Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was the first successful atomic bombing that has dropped on the earth. The explosion killed over 90 percent of the population and multiple people would die later from radiation poisoning.
