  • The Treaty of Versailles

    The Treaty of Versailles was signed at the end of WWI and pinned the blame of the war on Germany. Germany was required to demilitarize, Pay reparations, lose its territories, and give up all over sea colonies. All of this drove Germany into intense debt.
  • The Plague of Militarism

    Japan and Germany were hit the hardest by the world wide great depression and in turn were the most desperate. The Ideology was that they could solve their economic dilemmas with military escapades. This doctrine spread like the plague in Germany and Japan because of the public unrest. That mindset is what led to the acceptance of militarization and brutality.
  • The Rise of Hitler

    Hitler became chancellor on January 30th 1933. Hitler had promised to bring food and security so the German people and he was also really charismatic. After The Treaty of Versailles, the German public was suffering and desperate for stable leadership, a rich economy, and Hitler promised both to the public.
  • Appeasement

    The European powers did not want a war and would do anything to avoid it. Germany was breaking the treaty of Versailles by arming themselves, collecting more territories, building and moving an army and invading surrounding countries. Brittan decided to ignore all of that which gave Hitler the idea that he could do whatever he wanted.
  • The Start Of WWII

    Germany invaded Poland on September 1st 1939. Hitler had said that Poland had attacked and Germany was firing back in self defense. This was a lie, German soldiers had dressed up as the polish and attacked a radio shack. In acknowledgment, France and England declared war on Nazi Germany.
