    Germany and Russia teamed up to take down Poland. While Russia came through east, Hitler invaded from north, south, and west using a swift intense military attack called blitzkrieg. Since Britain and France had a fact with Poland they declared war on Germany, marking this the beginning of WWII.

    1938 Prime minister Neville chamberlain and Hitler signed the Munich Agreement giving Adolf the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia for peace. That promise was shattered when Hitler invaded Poland. Chamberlain declared war against Germany but was proven to be unfit to save Europe. Churchill known for his military leadership ability was made prime minister.He quickly won support of the Britons. His first year of administration he stood alone against Nazi Germany and never surrendered.

To Japan war was inevitable in order to defend its status as a major world power. Even though 15 ships were destroyed, the three pacific fleet carries were out to sea on training. The carries got their revenge against Japan 6 months later with a victory.

    The battle of midway is one of the most historic U.S. victories against Japan during the war. The outnumbered U.S. pacific Fleet succeeded in destroying 4 Japanese aircraft while only losing one, The Yorkshire. The U.S. was a growing threat and the Japanese General sought to destroy the US before it became to big of a threat. The battle marked the turning point in the pacific theater of WWII. It is known as the bloodiest battle in modern history.

Nazi leader Adolf Hitler knew that an Allied invasion of Nazi-controlled Europe was imminent, but because Germany was vast, Hitler was unable to put his forces in any one place. On September 3, Montgomery’s Army began an invasion of the Italian mainland and the Italian government agreed to surrender.

    In the summer of 1942, Hitler launched a major offensive into southern Russia, seeking to destroy what was left of the Soviet Army and ultimately capture the Caucasus oilfields. By October most of the city was in German hands, but the Russians held on and claimed their victory thanks to the help of the Russian winters.

    The Allied forces attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy, France. This victorious battle was a huge turning point in WWII for the Allies. By the end of D-Day over 150,000 troops had landed in Normandy. They pushed their way inland allowing more troops to land over the next several days, successfully pushing the Germans out of France.

    This battle was the seal of fate for the German and Axis-Powers. This surprise attack on the Allies was Hitlers way to have them surrender so that he could continue his war in the east with Russia. The Allies were quick on their feet to get it together and pull through with a win.

    Hitler remained in his bunker for the last siege of Berlin. He spent most of his days entertaining guest and micromanaging German defenses.Warned by officials that the Russians were only a day from overtaking the chancellery, Hitlers choices were either escape or suicide, he chose the latter. Him, his wife, beloved dog and pups swallowed cyanine caps. He then shot himself with a pistol for good measure. He was declared dead in 1956. A month after his death Germany surrendered.

    This was the bomb to end all bombs. Even though Germany had been defeated, the war against Japan continued to rage. President Truman wanted them felt with quickly. The solution, American bomber Enola Gay dropped a five-ton bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. It immediately killed 80,000 people and 60,000 died from the fallout effects.
