Remilitarization of the Rhineland

Invasion of Poland
Hitler set out a surprise attacck to conquer Poland. German tanks and troops rumbled across the Polish border. German aircrafraft began bombing the capital of Poland. Germany used their new military strategy blitzkrieg for the first time. This marked the beginning of World War 2. France and Great Britain declared war on Germany soon on September 3. Axis Forces Attack North Africa
Germany's first objective in the Mediterranean region was North Africa because of Hitler's partner Mussolini. Mussolini attacked British-controlled Egypt. This event showed the weakness of the League of Nations and also challenged the Treaty of Versailles by going against the international peace. Battle of Stalingrad
After suffering defeats in North Africa, German armies bombed the city and this turned the War in putting the Russians on the offensive, which led to conquering of Germany by the Allied Forces. D-Day
British, American, French, and Canadian troops fought against Germany. This was the longest sea battle in history. It ended the war faster since it opened a second front against Hitlers Germany, which diverted resources away from Germany. It allowed the full force of US and Britain to engage the enemy. Germany Surrenders
