This battle was one of the biggest in the WWII, the allies attacked Nazi-occupied France with 1.5 million troops from different countries. The allies arrived to the French beaches that were fortified with bunkers, barbed wire and mines. But the allies fought and liberated France after four years. -
Hitler commits suicide
After the allies had liberated France and started to invade Berlin. Hitler knew there was no way to stop it and he committed suicide with some of his crew members. And after that the war slowly began to end. -

On May 8, 1945 Nazi Germany surrendered. They did so because they were surrounded and had no way out. This day was really good for all soldiers and the majority of the world, because war on Europe had ended. -

The official end of this war happened after the US dropped 2 nuclear bombs on Japan. And, the Soviet Union launched a big invasion on Japan invaded China. After this Japan officially surrendered and the war was over.
