This battle was between the Allied forces and Japan in the Pacific by the island of Guadalcanal.It ended in an Allied victory. -

Hitler started dropping bombs all over london killing many innocent people. -
Italy surrenders
Prior to Italy's surrender, Mussolini was deprived of power and their fascist government was collapsing. There surrender was great news for the allied powers allowing them to land in southern Italy and fight the Germans.

D-Day
France was taken over by Germany. The Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France. More than 160,000 allied troops showed up.
