    Germany Invades Poland
    When Hitler invaded Poland in September 1939, France and Britain declared war on Germany. After conquering Poland, Germany attacked France. France fell in June 1940, and soon the Nazis overran most of the rest of Europe and North Africa. Only Britain, led by Winston Churchill, was not defeated. It's important because Germany started to cause trouble with places he had no business to be at because he wanted to be on top.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise preemptive military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service upon the United States against the naval base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii on Sunday morning, December 7, 1941. The attack led to the United States' formal entry into World War II the next day. This led to the United States getting involved in war and getting back at the Japanese.
  • Battle of Midway

    Battle of Midway
    Following the attack on Peal Harbor, Japanese armies rolled over Southeast Asia, the Philippines, and the East Indies. The war in the Pacific was fought on land, at sea, and in the air. The turning point in the war in the Pacific came in June, 1942 at the Battle of Midway. It's important because of the attack on Pearl Harbor so the Japanese wanted revenge.

    Battle of Stalingrad
    The Battle of Stalingrad was the largest confrontation of World War II, in which Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of the city of Stalingrad in Southern Russia. The importance to me was because this was the first major loss for Germany and they couldn't advance any further in eastern Europe and Russia.

    when some 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of the heavily fortified coast of France's Normandy region. I chose this was an important event because the Allied powers invaded France.

    Liberation of Nazi Camps
    American forces liberate the Dachau concentration camp. They find many dead bodies of Jews and people beaten and starved to death once they land on Germany. This is important because these people didn't deserve this and United States is finally taking control of it and helping them out.

    Hitler then commits suicide and is never to be seen again after the things he did. This is important because many people were happy because of the horrible and inhumane things Hitler has done to innocent people that they didn't deserve.

    The Holocaust was the systematic persecution and murder of approximately six million Jews by the Nazi regime. The Nazis, who came to power in Germany in January 1933, believed that Germans were racially superior and that the Jews, deemed "inferior," were "unworthy of life." During the era of the Holocaust, the Nazis also targeted other groups because of their perceived "racial inferiority. It was important because peoples lives were being taken in harsh ways and people were dying.

    The United States detonated two nuclear weapons over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945, respectively, with the consent of the United Kingdom, as required by the Quebec Agreement. It was important because Truman decided to drop an atomic bomb on the Japanese which started more problems.

    The Nuremberg trials were a series of military tribunals held after World War II by the Allied forces under international law and the laws of war. These trials were important because it gave the Nazis war criminals to justice.
