The Kwantung Army of the Empire of Japan invaded Manchuria due to the Mukden Incident. The Mukden Incident was when an explosion destroyed a section of a railway track near Mukden. The Japanese blamed the Chinese for this and so they invaded Manchuria. -

This was an awful march led by the Imperial Japanese Army. They made 76,000 captured Allied soldiers (Filipinos and Americans) to march about 80 miles to the Bataan Peninsula. -
Battle of Midway
This was a naval battle in the Pacific between the United States and Japan. This battle took place six months after the attack on Pearl Harbor. -
Battle of Stalingrad
This is when Germany betrayed the Soviet Union. The Nazi Army was battling the Soviet Union for the city of Stalingrad. -
Normandy Invasion
Now know more famously as D-day, this was one very significant point in the war. The Western Allies launched the largest invasion in history when they attacked German positions at Normandy, which was located in France. -
Battle of the Bulge
This was the last major German offensive, which unfortunately for them, wasn’t in their favor. The Allies harshly defeated worn out German soldiers. The Germans suffered a huge loss. -
Yalta Conference
This was a conference set up to discuss the aftermath of the war, most importantly to discuss the reorganization of Germany and Europe. The heads of government of the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union met up for the discussion. -

This was death and Japans doorstep. The U.S captured the island of Iwo Jima from the Imperial Japanese Army. -
VE Day
VE Day is also know as Victory in Europe Day. This was the day Europeans celebrated their victory against the Germans in WWII due to their surrender. -
Atomic Bombings of Japan
These bombings took place is Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The U.S dropped bombes in these cities, causing absolute ruin. -
VJ Day
VJ Day is also known as Victory over Japan Day. Victories were celebrated by the U.S because the Imperial Japan surrendered in WWII.
