    German forces surprise the British and French through attacks, but the British sent rescue at the beaches of Dunkirk, saving more than 300K troops. This event is known as the Dunkirk Miracle.

    Hitler's army bombs in an afternoon of London with air forces and explosives for 57 nights. Civilians evacuate, but still, the Germans were able to frighten and kill many.

    Operation Sea Lion is seen as a failure when it had no more success and Hitler backs out.

    Japanese attack the U.S. American fleet in Hawaii with bombs and airplanes, 2.4K deaths, and the start of American involvement in war.

    Battle of the Coral Sea.
    Battle between the U.S. and Japanese fought with air carriers, U.S. won and they also won the next Battle of Midway.

    The Battle of Stalingrad.
    Hitler's forces were determined to capture Stalingrad, but they were really battling the harsh winters as the Russians were battling their harsh attacks; at the end the Germans retrieved, leading to Russian victory.

    American troops invade French Morocco and Algeria to trap Rommel's army and surrender in May 1943. Britain wanted to start this second front in order to lessen the pressure of Germans in the Soviet Union.

    Allies invade France and recapture her from the Germans and within a month was free. Eisenhower led this war and wanted nothing but full victory, resulting in 9,000 soldiers wounded or killed.

    Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin make agreements towards the end of WWII: Stalin gets Sakhalin and Kuril Islands, and occupation at Korea, and Germany split into 4 for the Allies.

    V.E. Day.
    Victory against the Nazis in Europe when the Allies won WWII. Adolf Hitler commits suicide during the Battle of Berlin and crowds of the Allied powers celebrate.
