President Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill held a secret meeting. At this meeting, they created the Atlantic Charter which included a pledge that the allies would not accept territorial changes. The conferences were focused on establishing a second front. -

D-Day was a huge invasion in Normandy, France. It was the final battle of the war and completely ended it. It was a very bloody battle that resulted in many deaths. It is a historic day that we honor the men who fought. -

The US bombed two Japanese cities. The bombs killed thousands of civilians. The purpose of the bombs was to get Japan to surrender. When they didn't respond to the first bomb they bombed them again.
