The Germans having 1223 Fighter planes, 1482 Bomber planes, and 327 dive Bombers. And the English having 903 single-two-seat Fighters, 560 Bombers, and 500 Coastal-minded aircraft.

    Japan conducted a surprise attack on the air base of Pearl Harbor on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. This attack brought the United States into World War 2. Immediately after the bombing, the United States declared war on Japan.

    After the US had surrendered the Bataan Peninsula to the Japanese, about 75000 Filipino and American troops were forced to make a 65-mile march to prison camps. They made the trek in intense heat and harsh treatment by the Japanese guards. Thousands had died in what would be called the Death March.

    Three US marine divisions landed on the island. The island was defended by about 23000 army and navy troops. They fought with using caves, dugouts and tunnels. After about a month of fighting, despite the conditions, the US was able to wipe out the defending troops.

    The United States dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Thousands died after the bomb had been dropped and more had died later on because of radioactive exposure. Days later the United States dropped a bomb on Nagasaki. About 120,000 people had died due to the explosions.

    Japanese-Americans were no longer able to travel on plane or boat to another place in in the US unless they have already been given permission or is necessary that they have to do it. Some Japanese-American owned shops had been closed down and they had restrictions against them out of fear.
