Stalin sent the Soviet troops to occupy East Poland. They then began taking over regions in the second part of the agreement such as Lithuania, Lativa and Estonia. -

This is known as the "Operation Barossa". The Red Army was known as the biggest army in the world but was not ready for the Germans to attack. -

A declaration of principles issued by the British prime minister. This was put out as an Allied peace plan at the end of WWII. -

The Japanese on the Pacific coast were sent to camps. All of the Japanese were evacuated in Japanese-American communities. -
Battle of Midway
A sea and airforce battle between the Americans and the Japanese. The Americans defeated the Japanese forces. -
Allied invasion of Italy
Stalin urged the British and Americans to invade France. Germans took control of northern Italy and put Mussolini back in charge. -
D-Day
The day that Norway was invaded. It was considered the greatest attack on land and in sea. -
German surrender
Allies crossed the Rhine River into Germany to attack. General Eisenhower accepted the surrender of the Third Reich from the German miliitary. -
Bombing of Hiroshima
The Americans dropped two nuclear bombs of this city. This was the first atomic bomb dropped. -
Bombing of Nagasaki
AMericans dropped nuclear bombs of Japanese cities. This was during the final stages of World War II. -
Japanese Surrender
After the bombings in Japan, the Japanese surrendered. They surrendered around the Missouri battleship in the Tokyo Bay.
