    Blitzkrieg
The Blitzkrieg was the "Lightening War" tactic used by the Nazis in WWII. It involved the use of paratroopers who would parachute in before the ground invasion to cause havoc. Then the Luftwaffe would use its Stuka's and bomb potential target cities and military instalations. Finally the ground invasion would happen in a three prong attack that was led by Panzer Tanks. The Blitzkrieg proved unstoppable early in WWII especially in smaller geographic areas. It failed in Russia over open land.
