    These are short, fast and powerful attacks also referred to as "lightning war". Helped the Germans take over land quickly with little fight. The Germans were able to take over land they wanted.

    Germany attacked France and took over France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.This was so Germany could expand and take over as much land as possible. This land gave Germany more space to plan new attacks and more land to work with.

    Japan bombs the Americans at pearl harbor. Japan did these bombings so they could try to keep the Americans out of their lands so they could continue to expand. This event awoke America and made them enter WWII.

    This is the largest seaborne attack in history by the Americans, British and Canadian troops in order to take some ground in Germany. these attacks were very costly but well worth it. This event helped allied troops set up beachheads on German soil.

    This was the last major offensive battle by the Germans. The Germans wanted to stop the allies use of German ports. The Americans stopped them and Germany lost so many men and couldnt replace them.

    Americans landed and captured the Japanese island of Iwo Jima. The take over was important so Americans could get ships to the Japanese ports. US Marines eventually took it over capturing one of many Japanese islands.

    "Victory in Europe day", Nazi Germany surrenders and Hitler is dead. Celebrations erupted across the country and Jews are set free. Nazi rule was over.

    In most camps saved only a few thousand were still alive after heavy casualties. When finally liberated jews had a hard time coming back into society with most of their homes being taken over.

    Americans didn't want the large casualties the could've suffered by attacking on foot so the decided t drop a 5 ton bomb in efforts to finally end the war. the bomb killed 80,000 on impact and a few days layer Japan surrendered.

    "Victory over Japan day", Japan surrenders to the United States marking the end of WWII. The atomic bomb killed and destroyed so much Japan saw no way out.
