Hindenburg wanted to make a stable government so Adolf Hitler was appointed the Chancellor of Germany becxause the people before him couldn't control the Reichstag. Once Hitler was appointed his plan was to stay away from politics and make Germany a powerful state. Soviet union surprised the world by signing the German-Soviet Nonaggression pact which made Germany and the soviet union take no military actions against each other for the next 10 years. Stalin wanted to keep his nation on peace with Germany. Hitler used the pact to make sure Germany was able to invade Poland unpossessed.
