    After WW1 fascist dicators started to arise around European countries. For example Mussolini became the dicator of Itlay and starte dto change the economic and social polices. Later Hitler came to power in Germany and changed the views of people he controled.

    Hitler forced Austria's chancello rto put Nazis in the cabinet postions to keep things in oder. When things were not in order the way Hitler wanted them the troops would fix the problem. They would also silence all those who disagreed with Hilter and his goverment ways.

    This was called the beginning of the real war, because 330,000 British and French soliders were trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk, due to the oncomeing German army. The only way to leave this shoreline was by small boats. Which started to take the most experienced soliders out to larger boats to be brought to port in southern Britain.

    Japan started there aggression in Asia in China. The Japanese army took advantage of the revolution in China and invaided in the middle of the revolution, knowing that China would have a little chance in winning this battle. After the defeat of China the Japanese joined the Axis powers.

    The fall of France happened when Italy declared war on France and later attacked them from the south. With the help of the German army Italy overran and destroyed the French army. So later that one day Hitler forced France to sign surrender documents in the woods.

    Operation Barbarossa was a suprise attack on the Soviet Union by Germany. About 4.5 million troops went in the Soviet Union through a border that stretched about 1,800 miles long. In one week the German troops had advanced 200 miles, destroyed 4,000 aircrafts, and killed or wounded about 600,000 soliders. By the end of this Germany lost 775,000 soldiers, and the Soviet's lost around 800,000 soldiers.

    This battle was fought during May and June of 1942. The conflict was between the United States of America and the Japanese. What happened was that U.S warships and airplanes damaged two Japanese fleets. After this the U.S took an offensive position in the war.

    Egypt and Britain stopped Rommel's advace during the battle. While also pushing the Axis powers across Libya and into Tunisia.
  • Battle of the Atlantic

    Submarine warfare continued and Germany delcared war on the United States. The German army started to come into the east coast. To protect themselves the east coast at night would dim there lights so that they could not be seen from above. By the end of this battle nearly 360 U.S ships were sunk and 1.1 millions new tons of shipping were created to help. But at the end with new technologies formed the battle turned out in favor of the allies.

    British and American troops landed in Sicily then in southern Italy. Italy was then defeated in just one month. The Italian's then over threw Mussolini there dictator and signed an Armistance. But Hitler tried to help Mussolini by sending troops but Britain and American troops caused heavy losses to the German army forceing them out.

    This battle is were Germany surronded Joseph Stalin's namesake city. This battle was fought through the winter and about 300,000 soliders were killed, wounded or captured.

    D-Day was when over 5,000 ships and 13,000 aircrafts landed on the beaches of Normandy, France. With this battle more then 9,000 Allied soldiers were killed or wounded. But another 100,000 went on to cross Europe in the hopes of defeating Hitler.

    In early July scientists test the first atomic bomb after releazing in early years then when an atom is spilt it creates an explosion that is much more powerful then every before. So President Harry Truman of the U.S decided to try the first atomic bomb against Japan on April 12, 1945

    This battle was a plan by the United States to defeet the rest of the Japanese fleet. This battle went through Untill June 22, 1945. The U.S sent down bomb raids on Japans industrial heartland. This battle proved to be very important on ending the war.

    Russian troops pushed across Poland to attack Germany, they had a strong force that outnumbered the German forces . All most all Berlin's army was children or older people, becasue of the amount already hurt. But even with this army this battle stilled turned out to be a fight to the death.

    On this Germay surrender from the war. After two years of all around bombing on Germany and the loss fo 135,000 people kiled and haveing allies in western Germany. The biggest threat in the war surrendered.

    A peace treaty was signed on an American battle ship in the Tokyo Bay by the Japanese head leader. The reason for the surrender was because the Soviet Union started attacking Japan and the U.S was dropping Atomic bombs on the Japanese which destroyed several main towns and cities.
