  • Poland Invasion

    Poland Invasion
    Poland invasion started in 1939 after Hitler began making terriorial requests from the European nations. He faked attacks on the German border to justify war and signed a secret agreement with Russia and attacked Poland taking one half while Russia took the other half. After the invasion began Britain and France declared war on Germany and this event is known as the official start of WWII
  • Battle for Britain

    After the France occupation occured and several soldiers had escaped across the english channel, German bombers began bombing campaigns over Britian forces the citizens into subways waiting out the bombers. Most of the campaign lasted until U.S. got involved in war and sent troops to Europe to help Britain on its last leg.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    On the morning of December 7th, 1941 Japanese bombers flew to the U.S. base in Hawaii. U.S. troops stationed at the base were caught by suprise and many lives were lost. Some planes however managed to make it up into the air to fight off the attackers. Shortly after the attack Japan also attacked other U.S. bases in the Philipeans and the islands of Guam and Wake. Germany and Japan would soon declare war the U.S. officially bringing them into the war.
  • Battle of the Coral Sea

    In the Pacific Ocean war began to rage between Japan and the U.S. as the each nation was trying to take control of islands between each nation, known as island hopping. The Battle for the Coral Sea took place in the spring of 1942 and was the first battle in history where enemy ships never met during the fight. One ship on each side was destroyed, two ships on Japans side were damaged and one on the U.S. side. Even though the losses were very even the U.S. was able to gain a stratagic lead.

    Battle of Stalingrad

    German forces invaded Russia in the early 1940's and easily crushed the Russian army. Hitler split his army into three divisons one of which was sent to the city of Stalingrad which was put under seige. Between August 23rd, 1942 and Febuary 2nd, 1943 the Russians were able to push back the Germans. This battle is considered the turning point on the Russian front in WWII.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    On June 6th, 1944 the U.S. forces combined with the British forces began their plan to invade Nazi Germany territory along the Norwegen and Northern French coasts. With the sucess of the attack, the Allies finally began closing in on the German army and the end of the war was in sight.
  • Operation Valkyrie

    In the summer of 1944, members of the Nazi government saw a end to the war and realized the war would end badly for them and with Hitler in power, there would be no peace until every citizen of Germany was dead. The officials tried to carry out an assassination attempt on Hitler by setting up a bomb during one of his meeting on strategies about the war. After the bomb went off, the officials of the government tried to carry out the plan, Valkyrie, declaring the army would rule over Geramany.

    As the Allies began invading the German homeland, Hitler became surrounded and knew he had finally lost. He went to a bunker with his love and they were both later found dead, each taking posion and Hitler had also shot himself. This lead to the German surrender to the Allies and a week later VE day would come.

    After Hitler killed himself, Germany was forced to surrender to the Ally forces bringing the Victory in Europe day which was the official end to the war in Europe.

    Victroy in Japan Day
    After dropping the atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, Japan surrendered to the Allies bringing the official end to WWII. Japan was left in ruin and many officers were tried guilty of war crimes for the decisions made during the war.
