  • German troops enter the

    The German army marched into the Rhineland, but ionly with 30,000 equipped troops, Hitler uses the reason:Germany was surrounded and need protection.
  • German and Australia united

    Hitler restores the order in Austria. Hitler threatens the Austrian leader Schuschnigg into giving all important jobs in the government to Nazis.
  • Germany takes Sudetenland

    Hitler announced to invade the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia, to protect the germand there.
  • Hitler and Stalin signed the 'Nazi-Soviet Pact'

    Hitler knows he have to get the USR to his side or he won't be able to invade Poland, so he signed the Nazi- Soviet Pact, which agreed not to attack each other, also secretly devided Poland up between them.
  • Britain and France declare war on Germany

    Britain and France declare war on Germany.
  • Operation Dynamo--Dunkirk

    The German advance pushed British Expeditionary Force and French Army so quick, that they were pushed all the way back to Dunkirk andthe troops were trapped between the Germany and the Channel. On 27 May British government starts the 'Operation Dynamo', the operation was to evacuate the troops to Britain by ships and boats.

  • Hitler invades the USSR

    Hitler decided to invaded the USSR after he lost the battle of Britain. He invaded in June to avoid the bad weather condition during winter.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    It's the largest military attack of the history of warfare, the operation was based on blitzkrieg. During operation barbarossa, 600,000 motor vehicles, 750,000 horses and four million troops were commanded. The germans captured 3 million casualties at the end of the battle.
  • Pearl Harbour attack

    In the morning of 7 December, japanese aircrafts struck Pearl Harbour, they destroyed 18 ships and 177 aircrafts, and over 2300 men died.
  • USA and Britain declare war on Japan

    The war becomes a World War.
  • D-Day operation

    The operation was also know as the 'Normandy Landing'.The landing was devided into airbourne assault landing and amphibious landing.The operation, planned by a team under Lieutenant-General Frederick Morgan, was the largest amphibious invasion in world history and was executed by land, sea and air elements under direct British command with over 160,000 in total.
  • Atomic Bonb

    An American bomber:Enola Gay dropped the world's first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, more than 70,000 people died within a few minutes.
  • Japan surrendered

    Three days after the first atomic bomb was dropped, the USA dropped another bomb on Nagasaki. On 14 August, Japan surrendered and Second World War was finally over.
