  • June 28th, 1914

    Archduke Franz Ferdinand killed, this caused conflict and President Wilson wanted to stay out of it.
  • August 8th, 1914

    Great Britain declares war on Germany, President Wilson is focused on staying neutral.
  • Germany faces big loss of troops

    Both Great Britain and Indian troops launched artillery at German troops. Germany ended up with 16,000 casualties
  • Woodrow Wilson Reelected

    Wilson was reelected on his slogan being "He kept us out of war". This affected America because the president is the one making the big decision
  • British intercept a attack plans

    Germany and Mexico had been communicating and forming an alliance to take down the United States. This affected The U.S. because not only did they have to look across the ocean, but they also had to look below them to their neighbors who could attack at any moment.
  • America joins the war

    America has now officially become a part of WW1 by declaring war on Germany. This will be a very scary war for America, and one they wanted to avoid at all costs.
  • American troops touch down

    American troops have now landed in France. This was now the beginning of the U.S' fighting
  • Germany signs the Armistice

    This happened on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month. 2000 casualties' total
  • Sedition Act of 1918 was passed

    This act made it illegal to talk bad about the U.S. army, government, and the flag. This removed a part of the 1st amendment, free speech.
  • War ends

    After several years of battle and bloodshed, Germany finally signed a peace treaty. This affected America, and really the whole world by bringing the first world war to a close.
