    John Joseph Brennan was an engineer . He served in the army as an engineer since 1917-1919. He really loved his job , when he was working as an engineer . He also said the people respected him.

    ARCHDUKE ASSASSINATION
    Archduke was assassinated in Sarajevo by Gavrilo . A group of young nationalists hatched a plot to kill the archduke during his visit to Sarajevo, and after some missteps, 19-year-old Gavrilo Princip was able to shoot the royal couple at point-blank range, while they traveled in their official procession, killing both almost instantly. When this happened it was an outbreak of WW1.

    WW1 STARTED
    WW1 started after archduke died in Sarajevo by Gavrilo. After that a whole conflict started between countries . The central power counties fought against the allied power countries . The central power counties are Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire . The allied power countries are Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan and the United States. Thats how WW1 started .

    THE BATTLE OF TANNEBERG
    The battle of Tannenberg is fought between Germany and Russia . The Germans defeat the Russians second Army. THe location of the army was in Olsztyn and in Dzialdowo. The things that was used was rifles, bullets, hand grenades, and machine guns were used in the Battle of Tannenberg.

    The ottoman empire declares war on the allies . The allied countries was Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan and the United States. They participated in the war as and central power country .

    An unofficial truce is declared between the two sides at Christmas. The Christmas truce was a series of widespread unofficial ceasefires along the Western Front of World War I around Christmas 1914. The truce occurred during the relatively early period of the war.

    The Germans begin to use submarines against the allied merchants ships around the island of Britian. The destruction of enemy shipping by German U-boats was a spectacular feature of both World Wars I and II. Did you know? For batteries to work properly, U-boats had to surface at least once every two hours.
  • THE ALLIES ATTACK

    THE ALLIES ATTACK
    The allies attack the ottoman empire at the battle of Gallipoll. I think the reason they attacked them back was because when the ottoman empire had attacked them first. So that's was just pay back to them because they had destroyed they second army. Following the attack, Russia and its allies (Britain and France) declared war on the Ottomans in November 1914. The empire fell into disorder with the declaration of war along with Germany.

    LUSITANIA SINKS
    A German submarine sinks the passenger liner Lusitania . The ship carries 1,198 people of 128 of them is Americans . American ship refused to challenge the blockade . Germany response to that was unleashed policy of unrestricted submarine warfare.

    BULGARIA
    Bulgaria enters the war by declaring war on Serbia . Bulgaria was also with the central powers group. Also Bulgaria was resentful after its defeat at the hands of Serbia, Greece and Romania. It signed a treaty of defensive alliance with the Ottoman Empire.

    LIVING CONDITIONS
    They went through many living conditions , the same group or different it didn't matter . They all shared the same thing .The living conditions they went through was Mustard gas , body lice , etc. Also and since they was like in a compressed area and making them prone to the infections and the diseases .

    He said one thing that all of the boys shared was large families of the cooties . Cooties was the term members of the military used in WW1. To refer as body lice soldiers compounding the misery of the trenches and transmitting diseases like typhus. The cooties was a common thing in WW1. Body lice was apart of the living conditions that they suffered .

    CLEANING CONDITIONS
    In the mornings they would get a small cup of water . With that water you would wash your face and wash your dishes , but DO NOT DRINK THE WATER ! As it might contain mustard gas that would kill you in time . The reason they would use that water was because they water was contaminated. Also that was the only water they had during that time . Even though the water would burn their skin and get them sick they had to do something.

    He said the people showed good respect to them when they was in their uniform. When the people would past them they would be nice to them . The people that I'm referring to is the people that didn't fight in the war. They was very wonderful to him and his people that's was also engineers . Then a few years later he joined the army because he felt like he was ready to do more than what he was doing.

    Germany had formally surrounded on November 11, 1918 and all nations had agreed to stop fighting while the terms of peace were negotiated . In World War I, the Allied Powers ended up as the winners. The main countries that were part of the Allied Powers were the United Kingdom, France, and the United States. Russia had been part of the Allied Powers at the start of the war but ended up surrendering after the Russian Revolution.
