  • World War I begins

    The assassination of Austrian archduke Franz Ferdinard was what started the beginning of WWI (Britannica, 2023).
    WWI was a big fight across countries around the whole world (History Editors, 2023).

  • Assassination of Archduke Ferdinard

    Gavrilo was the one to assassinate Archduke Ferdinard by shooting him and his wife (Britannica, 2023).
    Archduke Ferdinard and his wife were assassinated by getting shot while inside of a car. (Britannica, 2023)
    Archduke Ferdinard and his wife both died in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (National WWI Museum and Memorial, n.d.).

  • Lusitania sinks

    German naval commanders were the one to attack the Lusitania.
    A German boat had attacked a boat owned by the British which caused it to sink and kill over 1k people(McDermott, 2022).
    The ship was located around Kinsale, Ireland when it got attacked and sank(McDermott, 2022).
    During 1915 on May 7th, Lusitania sank(McDermott, 2022).
    The Germans knew that the British were bringing weapons and supplies on their ships so they made sure any ships owned by the British were attacked.(McDermott, 2022).
  • Battle of Gallipoli, Somme

    The French and German fought on the Somme River, Germany lost and the French won (History, 2023).
    The Battle of Somme started as an alliance going against the Germans that were on Western Front (History, 2023).
    The Battle of Somme took place around the Somme River located in France (History, 2023).
    The Battle of the Somme stretched out from July to November in the year 1916 (History, 2023).
  • Battle of Verdun

    Erich von Falkenhayn was a German Chief/ General Staff, he was the one who planned the Battle of Verdun (Imperial War Museums, 2023).
    The Battle of Verdun is known as the longest lasting battle in present-time history (Imperial War Museums, 2023).
    The Battle of Verdun took place in the city of Verdun around a river called the River Meuse (Imperial War Museums, 2023).
    The Battle of Verdun started on the 21st of February and ended on December 15 of 1916 (Imperial War Museums, 2023).
  • Zimmermann Note

    Arthur Zimmermann, a German Foreign Minister wrote the Zimmermann Note (National WWI Museum and Memorial, 2023).
    The Zimmerman Note was a scheme about aligning with the Mexicans and Japanese and to repair submarines (National WWI Museum and Memorial, 2023).
    The Note was written inside of the Foreign Office in the German Empire (National WWI Museum and Memorial, 2023).

  • Russian Revolution

    Czar Nicholas II was the emperor of Russia during World War I (Kiger, 2021).
    The Russian Revolution was a time where its people overthrew their government, and another revolution where the Bolsheviks took power. (Britannica, 2023).
    The Russian Revolution took place in Russia (Kiger, 2021).
    Both of the Russian Revolutions took place in 1917 (Britannica, 2023).
    The Russian Revolution happened right after World War I and people were getting sick and tired of the way they were living (Kiger, 2021).
  • U.S. enters war

    Woodrow Wilson, the president of America at the time of WWI didn’t to be involved in the war (National WWI Museum and Memorial, n.d.).

    A lot of the people that died during WWI died because of guns and poisonous gasses (Hosch, 2023).

    Marshal Franz Ferdinard Ford was a supreme commander in WWI whose death was very important to the start of WWI (Britannica, 2023).
  • The Treaty of Versailles signed

    Georges, Clemenceau, Matthias, Hermann, and more were important people during the Treaty of Versailles (Britannica, 2023).
    The Treaty of Versailles was created by this group called the Paris Peace Conference after WWI (Britannica, 2023).
    The Treaty of Versailles had many involved but the people who made it were in France, Italy (Britannica, 2023).
    The treaty of Versailles started on June 28, 1919 (Britannica, 2023).
  • First meeting of the League of Nations

    People like Jean-Jcques Rousseau, William Penn, and Jeremy Bentham were theorists who thought of ways to create world peace (United Nations, n.d.).
    The League of Nations was a group of people who wanted to encourage teamwork for world peace. (United Nations, n.d.).
    The meeting took place in Geneva where 41 members attended (United Nations, n.d.).
    The first meeting of the League of Nations existed on January 10, 1920 but its first meeting took place on November 15, 1920. (United Nations, n.d.).
