Franz and his wife Sophie are killed by Gavrilo Princip. It was their anniversary so the went to tour Sarajevo. Some people believe that it was the start of the war. -

A month after Franz ferdinand is killed, Austria-Hungry declars war on Serbia and the war starts. -
German air raids Paris
This attack had nothing to do with the military, the goal of the attack was to terrorize the people. The bombs killed two people and wounded one person. When the bombs were dropped a note was dropped that wanted Paris to surrender to the Germans. -
Japan attacks China
Japan starts to attack China and captures the town of Tsingtao. The town was controlled by Germany. The germans surrendered on November 6th. -

The german women want the war to end and riot for peace. Seven thousand women did this in front of the German Reichstag (Parliment). This took place in Berlin. -

The women in London want to help in the war, and want to work in the industry. They proclaim "Women Demand the Rights to Serve". They also say that "The situation is serious and women must help to save it", -
Germany begins to attack France.
The Germans attack the Meuse region in France. They started to make their way to Verdun which becomes a symbol of France's determination. The attack would last a year. -
Submarine warfare is banned
After another sinking of a passenger ship called the Sussex Woodrow Wilson threatened to stop being allies with Germany. The Germans stop at the request.
