The economy was doing very well. the rich were getting richer and buying more things, there were lots of new things thanks to the industrial revolution for people to buy. Credit cards were invented so people would buy things with moeny they did'nt have. eventuly on the day the stock market was at its peak, so everyone who invested in it wanted to pull their money out now. the banks did not have enough money causing the market to crash, people were in major debt, it is the biggest economic down. -
