    Also called the second sino-japanese war. Japan invaded china july 7, 1937. Japan had intentions of expanding and taking manchuria. After the pearl harbor attacks this merged with the WW2 conflict and resulted in a china and allied victory.

    The Munich confrence was a confrence that granted germany uninhabited land to german speakers. The new land was named Sudetenland. The agreement was negotiated in Munich among the powers of Europe. The act was intended to stop germanie's land grabs.

    On August 23, 1939 representitives from the soviet union and germany met to sign the non-agression pact. This agreement guaranteed thath the 2 countries would not attack each other. This helped germany not have to fight on 2 fronts. The pact was later violated by germany,

    The invasion of poland was when hitler and the USSR's attack on poland. This invasion is known as the beginning of WW2. The invasion took place september 1 1939. The Germans invaded from the north, south, and west of poland. The polish forces withdrew from their positions and retreated.

Coastal ships and convoys were the targerts at first. shortly after the Germans shifted to the infustructure of the UK

    The Lend-Lease Act was an actin which the United states Supplied Great Britian and other allies. It was signed into action after the outbreak of WW2. The act was made to by pass the current laws forbidding that. A total of $50.1 billion worth of supplies were shiped as a result of this.

    The holocaust was an attempt at complete genocide. Hitler the leader of the german "Nazi party" was the mastermind of this action. He lead his party to kill 6 million jews over the course of ww2. He used various methods a long with concentration camps to attempt genocide.

    Operation Barbarossa was codename for the german invasion of the Soviet Union. Over the course of the operation about 4 million Axis power soldiers invaded USSR. The front was 1,800mi, the largest invasion in the history of warfare. The operation used 600,000 motor vehicles and 625,000 horses. The invasion caused the Germans to loose a lot of people.

The confrence was to ensure the cooperation of the administrative leaders in various government departments in the action of the "Final Solution." This confrence was the meeting that started the enforcement of the Holocaust.

    The Pearl Harbor Attack was a suprise military stike conducted by the Imperial navy on the United States. The target was the base in pearl harbor, Hawaii. Early sunday morning December 7th 1941 the Japanese bombed the harbor killing 2,403 and wounding 1,178 American soldiers. This attack caused the United States to become in WW2.

    The bataan death march was the forceable migration by the Imperial army of Filipino and American POW's. After the 3 month battle of Bataan the Imperial army forced 60,000 to 80,000 Filipino and American POW's to march 60 miles to camp O'Donnell. The march killed 10,000 Fillipinos and 650 Americans.

    Blitzkrieg was a method of warfare used by germans in ww2. The term "Blitzkrieg" translates to lighting war. This describes the method used since it was often quick and powerful. Armored units would head the attack backed by heavy air support.

    D-day was the landing operation that took place on the 6th of June in 1944. D-day was the largest seaborn invasion in history. The United States and other allied powers sent troops in boats to land on the beach of Normandy, France. The operation was to help restore the french republic and became known as one of the bloodiest.

Hitlers motive was to capture the important harbor of antwerp. Hitlers atatack caught the allied powers off guard. this caused the united states to endure most of the attack. because of this the united states suffered the most casualties.

    The battle of iwo jima was a major battle between the United States and Japan. The battle was for the island of Iwo Jima. The United States invaded with hopes of taking over the entire island. That included its 3 airfields to provide a staging area for other attacks. These three bases would help for attacks on the main islands of japan. The United States defeated the Japanese in this battle.

    Code name "opertation iceberg" was fought on the rykukya islands of Okinawa. The battle was one of the last of the island hopping campaign. This island was approaching the main island of japan so it was esential for the allied powers. The Allied powers were victorious.
  • V-E Day

    V Day is public holiday marking the surrender of the Germans forces. After the suicide of hitler on April 30th lead to the surrender of the german forces. Upon the defeat of the Germans celebration erupted throughout the world. In the united Kingdom more than 1 million people celebrated in the streets. This day has become known as a day to celebrate.
  • The Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    After intense fighting and casualties in the island hoping campaign the U. S. had to make a decision. The Japanese weren't going to stop fighting, and in order to win it would cause more casualties. On August 6th in 1945 the first atomic bomb used in combat was dropped. Then a second after 3 days of the Japanese not surrendering a second bomb was dropped. The second bomb caused the Japanese to finally surrender.

    Otherwise known as Victory over japan day. This day marks the surrender of the japanese forces in result ending WW2. It is Semptember 2nd because that was the day the japanese boarded the uss Missouri and surrendered.

The pact was motivated by soviet desires to maintain control over military forces in central and eastern Europe. The Warsaw pact was used to divide the teritory after the fall of the USSR.
