    This presentation is going to be about World War 2 and the terror Hitler,Mussolini, Japan, and Stalin caused several terrors, savage attacks in Europe and the outcomes of it. Now lets jump in to see the deadliest time of the world.

    The Rape of Nanking
    The most sinister thing Japan had ever done.This happened for a resource and power grab by the Japanese.This event and was a mass murder of Chinese citizens by the Japanese army. 420,00 were killed or raped. Women and children were raped and beaten. And the aftermath was that China is more harsher to Japan today, and Japans had officially apologised for the war crimes of past Japanese soldiers.

    German Blitzkrieg-  December 7 1939-1940
    The Blitzkrieg was Germany's strategy to powerfully attack Europe's other countries in the beginning of World War 2. Blitzkrieg (translated to the word Lighting) was used to take a great sum of land in a short amount of time, 2 years exactly. They used this military tactic to take multiple areas, and they used this to take Poland.     Fall of Paris
    June 5-25 1940 was the time Paris fell down to the clutches of Hitler and the Nazi’s. Hitler took the Netherlands and Belgium and had thousands of Allied prisoners and their next target was Paris, France. From their past loss to France in World War 1, Hitler wanted the victory to make Germany's pride great again. Italy set out 30 air divisions to aid Germany's attack on southeastern France and gave Germany an advantage. They won and took over France. 25 days later.

    Attack on Pearl Harbour
    The Attack on Pearl Harbour was what brought the US into WW2. Japan saw that US Pearl harbour had oil and resources they needed, and with the US being neutral in the war, they took that as an opportunity to strike, and they provoked the US and had Japan’s fate sealed.

  • Wannsee Conference

    Wannsee Conference
    On January 20 1942, the Nazi party and German officials highest ranked government officials gathered in Berlin to discuss the “Final Solution of the Jewish Question”. This was where they first started to talk about what they were going to do to the Jewish people, and the beginning of the biggest mass murder of the 19th century.

  • Bataan Death March

    Bataan Death March
    After Pearl Harbour was attacked. Japan tired to take the Philippines. The Bataan battle was on for months to serve as a buffer waiting for the US to come but the Philippines were left to Japan and finally surrendered. The prisoners were made to march across the Philippines and were not fed, were put through terrible weather conditions and sometimes killed and beheaded and suffered starvation. This was another of the worst war crimes Japan committed.

    Smoky the War Dog
    Smoky the Dog, 4 lbs Yorkshire Terrier. A brave tough war dog. She was credited with twelve combat missions and awarded eight battle stars. She survived 150 air raids on New Guinea and made it through a typhoon at Okinawa. Smoky even parachuted out of a tree, using a parachute made just for her.On those flights, Smoky spent long hours dangling in a soldier's pack near machine guns used to ward off enemy fighters. and ran a telephone line in a underground pipeline Smoky was a fearless soldier.

    Polish Jews made a resistance under Nazi occupation and was the biggest only break away from Nazi’s in WW2. A small group of Jewish people in Poland stood up against the Nazi high officials in their area. they were outnumbered and didn't have enough supplies to last. but this uprising was the greatest prime example of what the human spirit can accomplish in the face of war and genocide.

    D-Day (Normandy Invasion,1944)
    Normandy in Northern France beaches had an invasion and troops From the Allies came to help, during that time Nazi Germany had taken control of France. This was a big battle including the most air and land operation in history. Northern France was saved and the Allies defeated the Nazi’s in the spring of 1945. History made this day known as D-Day.

    Nicknamed “ The Greatest American Battle of the War” by Churchill, the battle took place in Belgium and was Hitlers last major offensive against the western front, Hitlers goals was to split the allies when they were coming to Germany. But of course he failed and that made the Allies get a victory This battle lasted 6 weeks and the stakes were high for both sides. It caused 100,000 casualties.

  • Liberation of concentration camps

    Liberation of concentration camps
    The Soviets were the first to find the camps the Nazi’s put Jewish people in. This was a great miracle to make, freeing the Jewish people (and more) from this hell. and once they had been found they called the other Allies to help free the people from the multiple Concentration camps across Germany.   • Battle of the Iwo Jima

    Battle of the Iwo Jima
    This One was just the United States and the Empire of japan. The US sent an invasion to the Island of Iwa Jimas, this was the bloodiest battle in history. Japan was willing to fight to the last man standing and truly did. The island hopping in the Pacific was one of the US favourites in gaining territory to get closer to the mainland of Japan.

    After the war had been on for 5 years, on May 8, 1945 World war 2 officially ( in EUROPE) was over. Celebrations had come out and people remembered the cost of this war. And rejoiced as it was finally over.

    The Potsdam declaration was the last warning and a civilised way to end the war. The last chance the Allies gave Japan to surrender. Germany surrendered and Hitler killed himself on his wedding day, and Mussolini and his mistress got hung by their feet, so it seemed there was nothing left to fight about. However Japan still had their claws out and was ready to fight. The Atomic bomb was here. Japan didn't surrender because it would be dishonourable and said no. and then they got bombed, twice.

    the US had dropped bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The bombs killed nearly 129,000 civilians and caused permanent and severe injuries lasting to this very day. The first bomb was a warning to the Emperor and they didn't stand down and the second one was the last and only other atomic bomb. The atomic bomb was like lighting a mini sun of the planet, causing radiation poisoning and genocide.

    Another victory day and the end of WW2, but for Japan. This day marks the official day the war ended for Japan and the US. when president Truman finally confirmed the war is over (after putting the most inhuman bomb in history on 2 cities)
