    The Battle of Britain was an air battle between Germany and the United Kingdom. It was the largest air campaign to date. the Germans wanted to gain air superiority through this battle. The Germans lost this assault and forced hitler to cancel operation Sean Lion.

    An act that supplied France, Great Britain, and China as well as other allies with food, oil, and Material. The aid was free; although battleships had to be returned.

    This was a decisive naval battle in the pacific theatre. The battle was between the U.S. Navy and the Japenese Imperial fleet. This was Japans first loss in almost 100 years. U.S. casualties reached 307 while Japenese casualties reached 3,057.

    This was the nickname for the German invasion of the Soviet Union. During this invasion about four million Axis soldiers invaded the Soviet union. The result of this invasion was a German loss, although Soviets suffered great loss in men.

    This was a major battle between Germany and its allies against the Soviet Union. Known for its close quarters fighting and air raids, as well as its civillian casualties. This was the most strategically decisive battle of the whole war. This was a larage loss for German forces and they had to take out troops from the west to resupply troops in the east.

    This battle was a huge German offensive march through Ardennes in Belgium, France. The coordinator of this march was Eric Von Manstein. It was planned so they could capture the harbor of Antwerp. This was severely unsuccessful and depleted Germany's forces.

    This battle was between the United States and Japan. This was called Operation Detatchment, and the goal was to capture the whole island and its 3 airfields. This was the only battle where U.S. losses exceeded japanes losses. The japanese lost the battle and inadvertantly, the island of Iwo Jima.

    This battle was codenamed Operation Iceberg. This battle included the largest amphibious assault of the war. Units used were as follows: for the united states the tenth infantry, the XXIV Corps, lll Amphibious Corps, and the fifth fleet, and for Japan it was the Thirts-second fleet. Japan surrendered after only two months.
