Germany storms into France and takes Paris creating a curfew and changing the way of life for the people of Paris. He took France for revenge for their defeat in the first World War. Due to this invasion Canadian troops help out .

Germany's attempt of attacking Britain. To claim Britain due to the fact that their tanks could not go over there. Due to a failed attack and lost morale, the bomber fighters hittler postpone them permantly. As a result, the British got angrier and started to attack harder.

The U.S. lends military aid to Britain. The reason why this happened was so the U.S. could have military bases in and so Britain can have some resources. This caused an elimination of any neutrality the U.S. had.

Just before 8 o'clock in the morning hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the U.S. naval base Pearl Harbor near Honolulu Hawaii, in which lasted two hours long. There were about 20 ships destroyed and these included over 300 planes. Nearly 2,000 soldiers and sailors that died during the attack an additional 1,000 were hurt.

After the bombing, President Roosevelt makes a speech on the attack on Pearl Harbor. He calls the event the Day of Infamy. He also feels betrayed by Japan because he was told they wouldn't attack the U.S. During the speech he declares war on Japan and Hitler declares war on U.S.

Due to the suddeness of the attack on Pearl Harbor, it left Hitler surprised. Though he agreed on joining in on a war with the U.S. with Japan, Germany wasn't obligated to do so he went on to do so anyway.

The turning point of war for the Allied Powers. Six months on the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. beat Japan in the Battle of Midway. The U.S. was able to preempt and counter Japan's ambush. During the ambush the U.S. destroyed the Japanese Navy and the Allied Powers were able to move in the offensive position.

The most successful battle for the Soviet Union was the Battle of Stalingrad during WWII. The Russians stopped the Germans to advance in their country and turned the war in the favor of the Allies. Deemed one of the bloodies battles of the war it claimed the lives of 2 million civilians and soldiers. This battle lasted from July 17, 1942- Feb. 2, 1943.

The largest amphibious invasion on Normandy beaches. British and Canadian troops overcame light target areas, so did the U.S. at Utah Beach. U.S troops encountered heavy resistance at Omaha Beach losing over 2,000 U.S. troops. By the end of the battle Allies had seized most of the port of Cherbourg and moved towards France.

This day was the moment the United States waited for since the bombing of Pearl Harbor. U.S. troops dropped two nuclear bombs on Japan over a three day span. This attack killed over 110,000 people and eventually causing Japan to surrender. Japan's Emperor Hirohito claiming this was the "new and most cruel bomb." September 2, 1945 was the offical end of World War II.
