Germany Occupies Czechoslovakia
In 1938, Hitler announced his plans to crush Czechoslovakia in a massive military operation. Britian and France allowed Hitler to take the Sudetenland from the Czechs, since it was a German speaking territory, hoping not to have to enter another war. Hitler ended up occupying all of Czechoslovakia in March of 1939. If Britian were to have decided to enter war now, Canada would surely do the same. -
WW2 BEGINS
After weeks of diplomatic bullying and military threats, Germany attacked Poland. Hitler's armoured columns and screaming dive bonbers crossed the Polish border. Britian, France, and Canada soon after declare war on Germany. -

Nazis and Russia Conquer Europe
By the summer of 1940, Hitler and Russia's Satlin controlled all of Europe. In this timespan they invaded, Poland, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Holland, Belgium, France, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Britian, prepared to fight alone, was supported by Canada and other dominions and colonies. -

Italy Joins the Battle
Italy attacks British Somaliland in August. In September, Germany, Italy, and Japan sign the "Axis" Pact. Italy invades Greece. -

Germany, Italy, and Japan sign the Axis Pact. -
German Betrayal
Germany invades the Soviet Union, breaking their secret treaty. Russia would later help ultimately defeat the Nazis. -
Fall of Hong Kong
Japan had attacked British Hong Kong without declaring war on the British Empire, which violated international law. The Allies were not accpecting to be attacked there by Japan. Japan won that battle because the Allies were unprepared. -
Allies Invade Sicily
The Allies which consisted of Britian, the United States, Canada, Free France, Australia and the Union of the South successfully invaded Sicily. This was the Allies' first invasion on Axis-held Europe. -
Battle of Ortona
Canada part takes in a bloody battle with Germany for control over Ortona, Italy. In 8 days, Canada managed to defeat Germany. Doing so, Canada lost 1,375 soliders. -
Normandy Landings
The Normandary Landings was an invasion planned by the Allies against Germany. This is the largest seaborne invasion in history. The winner of this battle would dictate the outcome of the war. Canadian troops helped take over 3 of the 5 beaches. -

Allies liberate Paris from the Gedrmans. Allies take Aachen, a German city. Canadian troops begin the liberation of Holland. -
The Battle of the Bulge
The battle of the bulge was Germany's last counterattack on the Allies. The battle lasted over a month, and the allies came out victorious. -
Hitler's Death
Adolf Hitler committed suicide by gunshot. His wife also committed suicide by ingesting cyanide. Russian troops were entering Berlin, which is where Hitler and his wife were, when this happened. -

WW2 ENDS
With the surrender of Japan, also known as: V-J (Victory in Japan) Day, comes the end of world war 2. This surrender happend shortly after America dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
