War Is Declared on Germany
France and Great Britain declare war on Germany. This is important because Germany was very srtong and hard to defeat. -
Winston Comes to power
Winston Churchill becomes leader of the British government. This is important because anew leader means new rules. -
Italy Becomes a Power
Italy enters the war as a member of the Axis powers. This is important because another power makes this group even stronger. -
Battle of Britain
Germany launches an air attack on Great Britain. These attacks last until the end of October and are known as the Battle of Britain. This is important because it was a large battle fought in the war. -
Pearl Harbor
The Japanese attack the US Navy in Pearl Harbor. The next day the US enters World War II on the side of the Allies. This is important because it has forever scarred the U.S. -
Iwo Jima
US Marines invade the island of Iwo Jima. After a fierce battle they capture the island. This was a great win so it was very important. -
Germany Surrenders.
Germany surrenders to the Allies. This was important because Germany was a large force and with them out of th way the war was coming to an end.
