What: Germany and Great Britian fought in the desert of Northern Africa. Great Britian's victory lead to the Germans surrender in North Africa in May 1943.
Why: It was significant because Germany no longer controled Northern Africa. -

What: The Italian government surrendered to the Allied forces, which lead to less power of the Italian dictator.
Why: Italian dictator Benito Mussolini no longer was in power. -

What: Brought together land and sea forces of Allied armies an they fought a very bloody battle. It was the largest invasion force in history.
Why: Within a year Hitler committed suicide, and the war ended. D day sparked the Germans surrender.

Where: 80 mile front running from Southern Belgium through the Ardennes Forest.
What: It was the last major Nazi offensive force against the Allies.
Why: Hitler wanted to split the Allied Powers up while the Allies were heading towards Germany, and to destroy the Allies ability to supply themselves with enough weapons/soliders. -

What: it was a conference about splitting up Germany into four seperate parts, since they lost the war.
Why: Now the Germans are less of a threat because they are now 4 seperate parts instead of one whole evil nation. -

What: FDR passed away after 4 great terms in office from cerebral hemorrhage.
Why: Roosevelt got the country out of the Depression with the new deal, and was president during most of world war 2. -
Hitler Suicide

What: He committed suicide 50 feet below the Chancellery buildings in Berlin after he blamed the loss on the jews and realized the Germans had lost the war.
Why: It proved that the Germans had no chance and that his Reich was a failure. -
Germany Surrenders
Who: Hitler, General Eisenhower, and Germans
Where: Berlin, Germany
What: Hitler blamed the Jews for the loss in the war after they were defeated by the Soviet Union. A week later, Eisenhower accepted the surrender.
Why: It ended the war in Europe and peace was achieved!
