Germany Invades Poland
On the 1st September 1939, Nazi Germany invaded Poland. German soldiers dressed up as Polish soldiers staged an attack on the German radio tower in Gleiwitz. Hitler decided that this would justify the invasion of Poland the next day. Germany requested that Poland surrender the Polish corridor to the Germans. Rationing Starts
As war became expensive and resources were on higher demand, Britain began rationing their food and resources. This continued through World War 2 and continued through the 1940's. Rationing was a form of handling the high demand of materials during the 1940's. Food was a major part of rationing because of men on the frontline in need of food, men and women at home were forced to ration their food in order to continue to feed the troops.

Blitzkrieg Is A Weapon Of Mass Destruction
The war in 1940's saw France, Poland and Belgium get overwhelmed by Germany's new strategy, Blitzkrieg. Blitzkrieg is implemented by a planned raid of large amounts of troops and machinery (Tanks and vehicles) to overwhelm the opponent. This was a very effective strategy for Germany from 1939 to 1941. -

Operation Barbarossa, previously called Operation Fritz, a code name for the invasion of Russia, was the launch of an invasion into Russia. D-Day
The battle of Normandy also called the Operation Overlord, lasted from July to August 1944. This brought allied control of Western Europe taken from Nazi control. This battle took extensive planning and was planned to have multiple battalions of British, American and Canadian soliders attacked beaches all along the beaches of France.

When concentration camps were liberated, the truth was leaked to countries about the real truth of concentration camps. Germany were planning to exterminate Jews from 1941. The exterminations started when Germany began to invade the Soviet Union. The first concentration camp liberated was Madjanek, which was done by advancing Russian troops.

Nagasaki was the second major bombing of atomic bombs. After Hiroshima, America bombed Nagasaki. The bombings killed over 200,000 people over several days. Over half were killed the first day, while others died from after affects.
