    Germany realised that with America coming to join the war, they had no chance to make a come back and turn the tables of the war. Therefore they surrendered as did their allies. War as in fighting ended on September 11, 1918. However, the war had not entirely been closed, it would not be until the treaty of Versailles in 1919 that the war would officially have ended.

    One of the requirements that Germany had to follow for the treaty of Versailles was to give away land. Germany returned Alsace-Lorraine to France. Other countries like Belgium received Eupen and Malmedy, the Saar region was placed under the administration of the League of Nations for 15 years and Denmark received Northern Schleswig.

    German Concentration Camps

    Hitler used concentration camps to put Jews in. He then tortured them in it, made them work and starve them. He mercilessly gathered them together in a gas chamber and killed a whole big group. This would be a good example of utter discrimination of religoin. What is even worse was that no one dared to stand up to Hitler and declare that it was wrong, people either left the country or stayed quiet.

    After Hitler was appointed chancellor, he focused on changing Germany. A lot political parties and organizations were forced by him to abide by the Nazi law, and soon he managed to control a lot of Germany under his Nazi laws. This was one step that Hitler needed to complete in order to guarantee his supreme rule.

    The Holocaust

    The Holocaust was the persecution of Jews by Germans. Although this did include concentration camps, it included much, much more. Germans invaded Jewmania and killed them or took them hostage. They had no respect at all for them. It was a devastating time all around the world as Jew were being mercilessly killed and there wasn't much the world could do about it except go to war. And this is part of the beginning of World War Two
