Sinking of Lusitania
German submarines began sinking ships between England and America. Then a passenger ship was sunk. Around 100 Americans. were killed. They said the ship was carrying supplies over to England, which was their Enemy. America now joins WW1 and is on the Allied Powers, though trying to stay fairly neutral throughout the war. -

Over 1 MILLION casualties in this battle with over 300,000 deaths. It happened in Somme and Pas-De-Calais. This caused major casualties on both sides. -
The Zimmermann Telegram
Germany sent a telegram to Mexico to start a border war with them because they didn't think the U.S was prepared. In return, he promised them Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. This got leaked to the public and shown that Germany was now a U.S enemy. -
Treaty of Versailles
This treaty ended WW1 once and for all in Paris, France. This War lasted 5 years with about 37 million casualties. The Allied Powers won.
