    Lusitania sinks
    A British passenger ship sunk by a German submarine off the coast of Ireland in 1915. Germany, then at war with Britain but not with the United States see World War I, had warned Americans against traveling on the ship. More than a hundred Americans died in the sinking.

    On April 6, 1917, the U.S. joined its allies Britain, France, and Russia to fight in World War I. Under the command of Major General John J Pershing, more than 2 million U.S. soldiers fought on battlefields in France. Many Americans were not in favor of the U.S entering the war and wanted to remain neutral.

    We moved the camp and now are a mile from the fairgrounds it took them a week to get their camp in order, first they cut the grass, dig trenches etc, he said it is hard to clean here because there are no places to wash your clothes wash your body or just really get clean anywhere.
