Close to the time 8 a.m. December 7, 1941 Pearl harbor was attacked by the japenese on the american naval base in Honelulu Hawaii. The attack lasted about 2 hours but it was harsh. They seamed to take out 20 american naval vessels including 8 ships and more than 300 planes. Many more than 2000 soldiers and sailors died. The next day F.D.R asked for congress to declare war upon Japan.The congress had approved his declaration. 3 days later Japans allies Germany and Itally declared war on the U.S.

On july 24, 1943, the British raded Hamburg Germany, at night well Americans bombed them by day on blitz week. 167 civilians had died in the raid. These tables were about to be turned. The night of july 24 the british bombers droped 2300 tons of bombs on Hamburg. 1500 people were killed tht night.
