On the 22 of June Hitler launched his armys eastward in a bug invasion twoard the soviet union. He sent close to three army groups with 3 million men, 150 divisions, and thousands of tanks that destroyed the frontier into the soviet unoin territory. The attack covered a massive amount of the north cape to the black sea. the distance between these was two thousand miles long. By this point the effectiveness of combat has reached its apogee. Barborosa was a critical turning point in WORLD WAR 2. -
Wannasee Confrence
on january 20, 1942 the Nazi officials meet up to discuss the details of the "final solution" of the "jewish question". Hendrick Hillmer met with Hitlers Einchmann, to talk about various Nazi ministries and organizations at wannsee, a suburbof Berlin. this was simple and focused agenda. This meeting was to divise a plan was that would make a "final solution" on the "jewish question" in Europe. -
Pearl Harbor
Close to the time 8 a.m. December 7, 1941 Pearl harbor was attacked by the japenese on the american naval base in Honelulu Hawaii. The attack lasted about 2 hours but it was harsh. They seamed to take out 20 american naval vessels including 8 ships and more than 300 planes. Many more than 2000 soldiers and sailors died. The next day F.D.R asked for congress to declare war upon Japan.The congress had approved his declaration. 3 days later Japans allies Germany and Itally declared war on the U.S. -
Operation Gomorrah
On july 24, 1943, the British raded Hamburg Germany, at night well Americans bombed them by day on blitz week. 167 civilians had died in the raid. These tables were about to be turned. The night of july 24 the british bombers droped 2300 tons of bombs on Hamburg. 1500 people were killed tht night. -
D-Day (Normandy invsion)
D-Day was used routinely as a military code name for an operation that would take place on the 6th of junein 1944. During WW2 the Normandy battle wich lasted a pretty long time from 1944 to 1944 of August , had resulted in liberation of west Europe from Hitlers Control. The code name "Operation over lord", the battle on june 6th. The canadianslanded on 5 beaches on a 50 mile long stretch. By the end of August 1944 the northern france had been liberated and the allies had also defeated the ermans
