Nikolai Yudenich was promoted to General of the Infantry and commander of the Russian Army. He led the successful operations in Erzurum and Trebizond. He was astablished war hero and he earned the Order of St. George. -

The failure of the campaign at the Dardanelles, resulted in heavy casualties. There was another campaign that followed later that year in Gallipoli that also resulted in heavy casualties. It also made a serious blow to the reputation of the Allied war command, including Winston Churchill, the British first lord of the admiralty. -

The Second Battle of Ypres began. During this battle is when the Germans first used poison gas. The Germans launched their first and only offense of the year. -

Zimmermann Telegram
IGermany sent the secret Zimmermann Telegram to Mexico. They sent it to Mexico to try and get them to join the war. THe whole point of the telegram was so that Mexico would declare war with the U.S. -
Retirement
Yudenich was unable to continue his operations so he retired shortly after.Yudenich returned to Petrograd until the October Revolution forced him to go to Finland. He then went to Tallinn, in Estonia. -
Second Battle of Marne
July 15, The second battle of Marne began. By the Marne River in France, the Germans begin what would be their final push of World War One. OnJuly 15, 23 divisions of the Germans 1st and 3rd Armies attacked the Frenchs 4th Army, while 17 divisions of the 7th Army attacked Frenchs 6th Army. -
Yudenich Placing Himself
Yudenich placed himself at the head of white forces to march in petrogard in autumn of 1919. He was deemed by many paople as the moment of the Russian Civil War began. The white forces led by by Yudenich was also known as the White Guard. -
Ending the War
The Treaty of Versailles officially ended World War 1.This first global war had ended 9 million to 13 million lives and caused severe undescribable damage. Germany and the all of the other nations(including Britain, France, Italy and Russia) signed the Treaty of Versailles, ending the war. -
Dissolution
Nikolai Yudenich ordered the Dissolution of the Northwest Army.A few days after the dissolution he was arrested by the Estonian authorities, he was released soon after at the request of the representatives of the Entente.
