What is the “Armistice of WW1?'' The Armistice was a ceasefire that ended hostilities with Allies and Germany on November 11,1918. Why did the Armistice happen? Germany's offense gained territory but used all of their supplies and reinforcements during four years of hardship (Sawer, n.d). What were the terms? France, Belgium, Alsace Lorrain, and the interned civilians (National WW1 Museum and Memorial, 2023). It was an agreement which stopped the fighting on the Western front. -
