Joined the war 1918-19. He was a marine. He enlisted when he was age 19. He said they came home in army uniforms because the Marine uniforms looked too much like the Germans.

The Germans sign a peace treaty with the new Bolshevik Gov. of Russia. The terms of the treaty gives a lot of land. This caused problems for the French, British, and Americans.

Arthur Rolland Keller fought in this. 7,800 men were killed and wounded. During this battle, the Marines bravely fought in open fire. The battle was won by second division marines. The Germans were forced to retreat from the Champagne Region because of the Marines power.
