    Assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand
    Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand was the Arch Duke of Austria-Hungary. He went to drive while on a trip and a bomb was thrown at him but missed and he drove away. He then stopped somewhere for a little while. After that they got back in the car and kept driving. That's when a driver took a wrong turn causing them to go on a street with the co-conspirator of the first assassination attempt. The man pulled out a gun and shot him. The man's name was Gavrilo Princip.

    4 weeks after the assassination Austria-Hungary's allies and Serbia declared war on each other. This was the start of World War 1.

    While German U-boats were roaming in the ocean they suspected a passing boat known as the Lusitania was carrying munitions to aid Britain in the war. These suspicions lead to them shooting and sinking a passenger boat carrying 128 American people.

    The Zimmerman telegram was a telegram sent by Germany to try and ally with Mexico in order to take over the United States. Germany offered to give Mexico the territory that was previously taken by the U.S. The U.S intercepted this telegram seeing it before Mexico. This made the U.S furious. Mexico eventually did get the telegram and declined the offer.

    Russia after having the most casualties throughout the war signed a treaty of Brett-Litovsk. This had all there factories working on making supplies to support Germany.
